Oman Eye Care has been locally-owned and operated in the Greensboro area since 1960. Formerly Optics, and before that, Layton Optical, we have been helping people look and see great for generations.
Dr. Heather Oman
Optometrist
Dr. Heather Oman is a native of Greensboro and a graduate of Southeast Guilford High School. She graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis magna cum laude in 1999. She performed externships at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville and Fanelli Eye Associates in Southport. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Joel Woods
Optometrist
Dr. Joel Woods is a native of North Carolina and grew up in the Boone area.
He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from MCPHS University in 2017 and practiced in Minneapolis for 2 years after graduation. He moved back to North Carolina in 2019 with his wife and 2 dogs and has been practicing in the triad since. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
