Meet the Doctors
Dr. Heather Oman is a native of Greensboro and a graduate of Southeast Guilford High School. She graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in biology.
She graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis magna cum laude in 1999. She performed externships at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville and Fanelli Eye Associates in Southport. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Maria Johnson is a native of Lucama, North Carolina and graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis in 2003.
She was residency-trained at the Wainwright Memorial Veteran’s Hospital in Walla Walla, Washington and served a Fellowship at the Pacific Cataract and Laser Institute.
Dr. Charlie Byrnes has lived in Greensboro since 1975 when he joined the practice of Pierce & Loflin downtown. He graduated from Indiana University and received his doctor of optometry there in 1975.
He joined the practice in 2014 after his office was torn down to make way for the new Performing Arts Center. Dr. Byrnes brings his years of experience and loyal patient base to the practice of Oman Eye Care.
